Northeast Ohio – Maloney + Novotny, one of Ohio’s largest full-service CPA and business consulting firms, is pleased to announce that they have recently been designated as a Common Security Framework (CSF) Assessor by the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST), a leading authority on the protection of health information.
CSF Assessor designation is reserved for a select group of industry-recognized organizations with the core business function of providing security, risk and consulting services to other organizations, particularly in the healthcare industry. Developed in collaboration with healthcare and information security professionals, the HITRUST CSF is the most widely-adopted security framework in the U. S. healthcare industry.
Maloney + Novotny Shareholder and practice leader Steve Thomas said, “Maloney + Novotny is excited to have achieved recognition as a HITRUST Certified CSF Assessor. With increases in cyber security threats and incidents, protection of health information has become of utmost importance. Security regulations have become increasingly challenging. Compliance with these regulations is required not only for health care providers, but also for any company that receives, transfers, or processes protected health information.”
CSF Assessors are critical to HITRUST’s efforts to provide trained resources to healthcare and related organizations of varying size and complexity to assess compliance with security control requirements and document corrective action plans that align with the CSF.
