CLEVELAND, OH – March 3, 2014 – On Saturday, March 1, 2014, local accounting firm Maloney + Novotny LLC participated in Junior Achievement of Greater Cleveland’s Bowl-A-Thon Fundraiser. Eight Maloney + Novotny teams comprised of 40 participants helped raise more than $5,300 to support educational programs in schools throughout Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake and Lorain counties. Maloney + Novotny’s Beth Markin spearheaded the effort and was pleased with the results.
“Each year the bar is set higher, but we always see strong results. Every team had a fundraising goal of $500 and we raised approximately $1,300 more than expected overall,” said Beth Markin, a Manager at Maloney + Novotny. “Community involvement is very important to our firm and Junior Achievement is an organization that we believe in,” added Beth.
Junior Achievement is dedicated to educating young people about business, economics and personal finances. Over 50,000 students will participate in Junior Achievement programs during the 2013-2014 school year. JA programs are taught by volunteers in class and after school in over 200 schools and organizations.
