POSITION: Senior Audit Accountant

This position is located in our Cleveland, Ohio area office.

General Summary of Position:

Responsible for organizing and managing client assignments and projects, including the completion of assignments and tasks and project components as well as coaching, advising and directing team members in meeting client and self-development expectations.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Understands performance expectations and manages own and others work to meet these expectations.
  • Has a strong understanding of the firm structure, the people, the services they provide and the firm’s clients.
  • Understands and can articulate the firm’s vision and strategies and their contribution to them.
  • Understands the business plan and financial performance.
  • Aims to achieve and appreciate utilization rate by communicating regularly with In-charges on availability and assignment progress.
  • Organizes project activities and ensures tasks are completed within project scope and budget.
  • Efficiently delegate work to staff members on the basis of their knowledge and capabilities.
  • Performs a detailed review of the team’s work to ensure quality and thoroughness and completion of assignment tasks within agreed timeframes.

  • Applies technical knowledge and research in formulating client related recommendations.
  • Helps to solve complex business problems.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and Finance
  • Must have their CPA
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive audit experience in public accounting or related field

  • Has a good working knowledge of firm wide systems and processes and with direction is able to identify the appropriate resources to apply them.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of how the firm can add value, sell and market to clients.
  • Develops working knowledge of the external commercial environment.
  • Understands the importance of the sales process.
  • Identifies and communicates potential sales opportunities and contributes to the discussion and generation of new ideas on sales opportunities.

POSITION:  Senior Tax Accountant

This position is located in our Delaware, Ohio area office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare/review various tax returns and year-end workpapers – individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns and make recommendations and decisions to address client needs.
  • Ensure the accuracy of tax returns including the documentation supporting tax positions.
  • Conduct tax research and provide effective solutions for management.
  • Identify significant tax issues including planning opportunities, deficiencies, state and local filings, and other matters.
  • Assist with tax agency notices and requests.
  • Supervise and provide assistance to staff.
  • Prepare quality tax planning and practical approaches to client’s particular tax needs and situations.
  • Provide advice that enables the client to increase profitability.
  • Maintain and develop business relationships with our clients.
  • Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
  • Sufficient knowledge of tax compliance based on level of experience.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Minimum of three to five years of tax experience in a public accounting firm.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Quickbooks experience preferred.
  • State and local experience (Income/Franchise, Sales, Use, Personal Property) a plus.

POSITION:  Audit Manager

This position is located in our Cleveland, Ohio area office.

General Summary of Position:

Responsible for managing client assignments and projects, delivering a high quality service. This includes coaching, advising, and supporting team members in meeting clients and self-development expectations. Manager’s direct field work on financial statement audits and accounting engagements, monitor progress of engagements in relation to budgets and due dates.

Managers are also responsible for client relationships within their area of expertise and for clients assigned to them.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Understands performance expectations and leads and manages teams to meet these expectations.
  • Has a strong understanding of the firm structure, the people, the services they provide and the firm’ clients.
  • Aims to exceed an effective utilization rate and monitor the progress of assignment teams in the achievement of utilization rates.
  • Is aware of client targets and proposal initiatives across the firm and contributes to the sales/proposal process.

POSITION: Bookkeeper

This position is in our downtown Cleveland, Ohio office.

General Summary of Position:

We are a multi-generational family office located in downtown Cleveland and are looking to hire a bookkeeper who will be primarily responsible for paying bills, reconciling bank and investment accounts, and preparing quarterly financial statements for individual and trust clients. Must have experience with a general ledger software package, (Accounting CS is preferred), Microsoft Excel and Word, and Outlook. Tax preparation experience is a plus. You must have at least five years bookkeeping experience and also have a pleasant personality as you will be working closely with clients and other business professionals.

Education and Experience:

  • High School graduate. Completion of some college courses preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of bookkeeping experience.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  •     Enter transactions from investment accounts into accounting software.
  •     Input journal entries and reconcile broker statements.
  •     Pay client bills
  •     Be able to make wire transfers.
  •     Possess strong customer service skills.
