William D. Comisford, Jr. joined Maloney + Novotny in 2015 after spending 9 years at the Columbus, Ohio certified public accounting firm, Cotterman-Wilson. Prior to joining Cotterman-Wilson, Bill spent 17 years in private industry.

Bill has over 40 years of public and private industry experience. He has been a Controller and CFO, he’s helped start up several businesses, and he’s bought and sold businesses. As a former business owner, he has the knowledge and hands-on experience of dealing with the multitude of issues that the firm’s clients encounter including:

  • Searching for qualified and the best employees
  • Hiring, firing and other HR issues
  • Dealing with and forecasting cash flow
  • Evaluating employee benefits
  • Obtaining financing and working with lenders
  • Marketing and generating revenues
  • Budgeting and controlling costs
  • Planning for and the evaluation of capital expenditures

Bill’s public accounting experience includes helping businesses with their tax, accounting, auditing and business consulting needs. Bill has the ability to look at the “Big Picture.” Bill’s client engagements have included construction, manufacturing, retail and wholesale, oil and gas, service, trade associations and several not-for-profit organizations.

Bill is a 1976 graduate of The Ohio State University and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of CPAs.

Bill and his wife Sue live in Sunbury and are active in their church and many community organizations. Bill serves as a Trustee for the Westerville Area Chamber of Commerce. As a civil war cavalry reenactor, Bill is the past treasurer for the Sixth Ohio Volunteer Cavalry Regiment. Bill is the current President of the Big Walnut Area Historical Society and has performed as a living historian. Bill is an Eagle Scout and volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America. Bill is also an author, researching and having a family history published.
