Jim joined Maloney + Novotny LLC in 1996 and was elected Shareholder in January, 2018. He has significant experience with not-for-profit organizations, especially performance of Single Audits. While Jim is highly skilled in the field of auditing and in federal and state tax issues, his greatest interest is in getting to know his clients and in helping to bring success to the businesses in which they are involved.
Jim’s not-for-profit clients include higher education and private secondary schools. Jim also has extensive expertise in service and manufacturing accounting and provides proactive business solutions to those he advises.
In the community, Jim served as Treasurer of the Art Therapy Studio and as President. He is also Treasurer of Ohio & Erie Canal Association. Jim currently volunteers as the head cross country coach and assistant track coach for Sts. Joseph and John Catholic School in Strongsville, Ohio.
A 1996 graduate of Ashland University with a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in accounting, Jim is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the National and Ohio Associations of College and University Business Officers.
