Internships at Maloney + Novotny

Maloney + Novotny LLC’s (M+N) internship program offers candidates the unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the accounting profession by working with a large client base in a variety of industries. The goal of M+N’s internship program is to provide candidates with a well rounded experience by offering training on both audit and tax engagements. Each individual will have the opportunity to work directly with experienced professionals and exposure to influential business leaders in the community and the Firm.

Types of Services Provided:
  • Attestation services (Audits, Reviews, Compilations, Agreed Upon Procedures)
  • Tax preparation services
  • Other special projects
Throughout the internship, interns will be introduced to the challenges of the public accounting industry and experience the culture of the Firm. M+N’s internship program is designed to provide flexibility and to assist the interns with the unique circumstances and complexities encountered during engagements in order to gain a working knowledge of each client. The interns have the opportunity to work on numerous client engagements with various team members of all levels within the firm.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop an understanding of M+N’s audit approach, methodology and tools
  • Establish working relationships with client personnel
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic technical requirements
  • Exhibit professional conduct
  • Adherence to the Company’s policies and procedures
  • Prepare financial statement reports and documentation
  • Review client accounting, operating procedures and systems of internal control
  • Preparation of tax returns (federal, state and city)

Qualifications:
  • Working toward a Bachelor of Science/Business Administration (Accounting Major) or a Master of Science in Accounting
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Working toward meeting requirements to sit for the CPA exam
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software applications
