Tim Novotny CPA
Tim joined Maloney + Novotny LLC in 1977 and is shareholder-in-charge of the Not-For-Profit Services Group. He has more than 30 years of experience working with not-for-profit organizations, especially educational institutions. Tim's client engagements include colleges, private schools, foundations, trade associations, various health and welfare organizations and a diverse group of other not-for-profit organizations. He leads audit engagements that have federal specific audit requirements including agencies which have received a variety of federal, state and local funding. Tim is current with the various industry audit guides promulgated by the AICPA and other federal audit guides.
Tim's ability to recognize and respond to the practical needs of his clients, along with interpreting and applying the technical standards set by the accounting profession, has allowed him to meet the individual needs of the firm's clients. Tim has a special sensitivity to the daily challenges not-for-profit entities face, such as budget constraints and specific reporting requirements.
A 1977 graduate from the University of Dayton, Tim is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a past member of the Board of Directors and the executive committee of the Ohio Society of CPAs and past President of the Cleveland Chapter of the Ohio Society of CPAs.
Active in many community organizations, Tim is the current treasurer of the Board of the Ohio Erie Canal Association and is a board member of the Near West Theater. He is also a member of the audit committee for the Cleveland Metroparks. In addition, Tim serves as a member of various other local boards.
Tim is a recognized industry expert and a frequent guest lecturer, presenting numerous seminars related to a variety of not-for-profit issues locally and nationally.
