Maloney + Novotny History

What’s in a name? Let us tell you! We’ve undergone mergers, acquisitions and multiple name changes during our 75+ year history, and all the while held steadfast to our customers and commitment to quality and excellent client service. Take a look at how we evolved into Maloney + Novotny, the region’s largest Ohio-based accounting firm.

1932 Our founder, Herb Hausser, together with Carl Heintel, founded Hausser & Heintel, creating one of the most dominant Ohio-based accounting firms of the time.

1981 Hausser & Heintel merged with Brubaker, Helfrich & Taylor. The merger made it the largest regional accounting firm headquartered in Ohio. United, the two grew into one of the most prominent regional CPA firms in the country and received the designation “Best of the Best” among accounting firms in the United States.

Jan. 2008 After a brief period in an alternative practice structure, we changed our name to Maloney + Novotny LLC, and, once again, became one of Ohio’s largest regional, full-service CPA and business consulting firms.

No matter our name, the standards put in place by founders, such as Herb Hausser, stay with us. As Maloney + Novotny, our commitment to quality and excellent client service live on and permeate our culture every day.
